| BACK | When I left Telopea I had hopes of following a career in veterinary science or similar. However my parents had other ideas and I enrolled in Law/Economics at ANU to commence the 51/2 grind to becoming a lawyer. It must have been Mrs Thompson’s excellent teaching in English that enabled me to get through. Only Ian Deane from my year embarked on a similar path – we have remained good friends throughout. I commenced practice in 1974 and have spent the last 37 years submersed in commercial work and litigation. To maintain sanity I spent much of my years as a Leader in Scouts and have enjoyed introducing many kids to the fun of camping, skiing and other outdoor activities. I have continued these with my current tribe of “god –children” and of course my own 2 boys. I married Amanda in 1973 and we have 2 great sons , Thomas and Nicholas – the latter has a delightful partner Jilda and recently provided the exhilaration of a grand-daughter, Corella who was born in October. |
