After finishing school I did a Science degree at ANU then a Dip Ed and went teaching at Queanbeyan High School. I first got married in 1974 to Jane and had one son, Ben, who is now 30 and lives in Brisbane with his wife and 2 year old son with another on the way. Started a band in 1980 and have played music with these same guys ever since. In 1990 met my current wife, Robyn, through teaching. We married and built a house (designed by my father) in Wamboin (rural subdivision near Bungendore). We had 3 girls, Katie in 1992, Lauren in 1994 and Penny in 1996 and along with Robyn’s son, John, we have home schooled all 4 kids until their mid teens. By 2003, after 30 years, I’d had enough of teaching and started my own gardening business locally which I continue to do now at a more relaxed pace. For the last 10 years our lives have been dominated by the kids’ sports activities, particularly horse riding, where the girls have had quite a degree of success. Most weekends we travel somewhere in NSW in our truck with 3 to 4 horses so that the girls can compete. We also manage the odd weekend down at Broulee where Robyn’s parents own a coast house.
